SelectBIO 주최 국제 컨퍼런스 Organoids, Spheroids and Organs-on-Chips 2024에서는 마이크로플루이딕스와 장기 칩 기술을 이용하여 기능적으로 적절한 방법으로 세포를 조립하는 중요하고 성장중인 분야에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 이 '조립된 세포'의 클러스터는 기능적으로 중요하며, 생체내 장기 구조를 모방할 수 있습니다.
예를 들어 마이크로플루이딕스를 이용하여 생리학적으로 관련성 있는 방법으로 조립된 칩 위에 탑재된 간세포는 독성 스크리닝에 활용할 수 있습니다. 또한 생체외에서 장기 단편을 조립하는 능력에 의해 생물학적 프로세스(생리학적·병리학적 방법 모두)를 '접시 안' 또는 '칩 위에' 재구축하는 정교한 수단이 제공됩니다. 폐기능 칩 및 뇌기능 칩, 장기능 칩, 골수 기능 칩, 뼈기능 칩, 신경 기능 칩 등 다양한 칩이 개발·연구되어 이 컨퍼런스에서 발표될 예정입니다. 또한 '질환 칩' 및 암세포 칩, 면역계 칩도 다루어질 예정입니다.
